On April 15, 2019, a disastrous fire ravaged the iconic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. Miraculously, the magnificent stained glass Rose Window remained intact, evoking a beautiful story of resilience and triumph. When this enamel box is opened, it plays 'Ave Maria' in commemoration of members of the public singing the hymn while the cathedral stood in flames. Handcrafted in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, exquisitely detailed keepsake boxes by Halcyon Days revive classic English copper enameling, a labor-intensive art that flourished in the 18th century. Cast in copper, the box is handpainted with four layers of enamel and fitted with a gold-plated hinge.
